What does "Unrefined" actually mean?

Most commercial skincare uses "refined" butters and oils, which are processed with high heat and chemicals to remove their natural scent and color. Unfortunately, this process also strips away the healing vitamins ($A$, $E$, and $F$) and essential fatty acids. Dukes & Co. uses only unrefined ingredients. This means they are kept in their raw, potent state—exactly as God intended—retaining all their natural healing properties.

Why is unrefined skincare better for Diabetic skin?

Diabetic skin is often prone to extreme dryness and poor circulation, which can lead to cracking and infection. Refined products often contain alcohol or synthetic fragrances that further irritate sensitive skin. Our unrefined butters provide a thick, protective moisture barrier that deeply penetrates the skin without the use of harsh chemicals, helping to maintain skin integrity and prevent "micro-tears."

Is your body butter safe for foot care?

Yes! In fact, our brand was founded specifically to address diabetic foot care. Because our ingredients are pure and free of synthetic irritants, they are ideal for massaging into dry feet and heels.

Since we use pure, unrefined butters with no chemical stabilizers, our products can soften in high heat (especially in our Alabama summers!). Store your jars in a cool, dry place. If your butter melts, simply pop it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to firm it back up—it won't lose any of its healing power!
